What it does

Most percentage questions come down to two numbers. Type them into Value A and Value B and the calculator answers both common questions side by side: what A% of B is, and what percentage A is of B. It also shows B minus A and A plus B, which helps when you are working out a change or a total.

Creators use it to turn raw stats into rates (saves out of reach, clicks out of views), and small shops use it for commission, tax, and revenue splits. Because both answers appear together, you do not need to pick the right formula first.

How to use it

  1. 1

Type the first number in Value A (the percentage, or the part).

  2. 2

Type the second number in Value B (the whole).

  3. 3

Read "A% of B" if A is a percentage rate you want to apply to B.

  4. 4

Read "A is % of B" if A is a part and you want to know its share of B.

  5. 5

Use the B minus A and A plus B stats for differences and totals.

What you get

Four stats to two decimal places: A% of B, A as a percentage of B, B minus A, and A plus B. If Value B is 0, the percentage share shows 0.00%.

When to use it

Platform or agency fees
Enter the fee rate as A and the payout as B to see how much a 12% or 20% cut takes from a sponsorship.
Share of total views
Enter views from one video as A and channel views as B to see what share of traffic it brought in.
Growth between two periods
Enter the increase (new minus old) as A and the old figure as B to get the growth percentage.
Split revenue with collaborators
Work out a 30% or 40% split of a brand deal before sending an invoice.

Example

Input

Value A: 15
Value B: 80

Output

A% of B: 12.00 | A is % of B: 18.75% | B minus A: 65.00 | A plus B: 95.00

15% of 80 is 12, and 15 is 18.75% of 80. The same pair of inputs answers both questions.

Tips

  • For percentage change, enter the difference as A and the starting value as B. Growing from 1,200 to 1,500 followers means A = 300, B = 1,200, which reads 25.00%.
  • For a decrease, still enter the difference as a positive A and the original as B, then read the result as a drop.
  • Enter percentages as plain numbers: type 15 for 15%, not 0.15.
  • For a sale price, the discount calculator shows savings and final price in one step.

Questions

How do I calculate percentage increase with this calculator?

Subtract the old value from the new one, enter that difference as Value A and the old value as Value B, then read "A is % of B". That figure is the percentage increase.

What is the difference between "A% of B" and "A is % of B"?

"A% of B" treats A as a rate and applies it to B (15% of 80 = 12). "A is % of B" treats A as a part and tells you its share of B (15 out of 80 = 18.75%).

Can I enter decimals or negative numbers?

Yes. Both fields accept decimals and negative values, and every result is rounded to two decimal places.

Why does the share show 0.00% when Value B is zero?

A share of zero is undefined, so the calculator returns 0.00% instead of an error. Enter a non-zero whole to get a real answer.
