How this calculator works

Mercari's selling fee is 10% of the item price plus any shipping the buyer paid. There is no listing fee, and for listings created or edited since January 6, 2025 there is no separate payment processing fee. Buyers pay a 3.6% Buyer Protection fee at checkout, which does not come out of your payout.

Your shipping choice changes where the 10% lands. If the buyer pays shipping, it joins the fee base, so you pay 10% on the label money too. If you offer free shipping, the label comes out of your earnings instead and the fee is 10% of the item price alone.

Getting paid by direct deposit is free. Instant Pay to a debit card costs $3 per cash-out, not per sale, so the toggle treats this sale as one cash-out. Cash out several sales together and the $3 is shared among them.

Profit is the payout minus the item cost, your label, and packaging. ROI compares that profit with the item cost, the fastest way to judge a sourcing buy.

Selling fee = 10% x (item + buyer-paid shipping). Payout = item + buyer-paid shipping - selling fee [- $3 Instant Pay]

Kids' sneakers: $20 with free shipping

You pay the $5.39 label yourself, and the 10% fee applies to the $20 only. Fee and label together take $7.39, more than a third of the price.

Mercari fee questions

How much does Mercari take from a $100 sale?

$10 with free shipping, leaving you $90 before your label and costs. If the buyer also pays $10 shipping, the fee becomes $11 because shipping is part of the base.

Does Mercari still charge a payment processing fee?

Not to sellers on listings created or edited since January 6, 2025. Older listings that were never edited keep the previous setup, where the buyer pays 2.9% plus $0.50 in processing until the listing is updated.

Should I offer free shipping on Mercari?

For fees it makes no difference: 10% of a $30 item with $8 buyer-paid shipping equals 10% of a $38 item with free shipping. Decide on what sells faster in your category and price the label into the item if you go free.

What does the buyer pay on Mercari?

The item price, shipping if you did not offer it free, sales tax, and a 3.6% Buyer Protection fee on item plus shipping. None of that Buyer Protection fee is taken from your earnings.

Is there a fee to move Mercari earnings to my bank?

Direct deposit is free, once per day, though a failed deposit costs $2. Instant Pay costs $3 per cash-out, for up to $600 a month to an eligible debit card.

What should I list at to clear $10 on Mercari?

Use the target-profit mode and enter 10. With the default $5 item cost, a $5.39 label you pay, and $0.40 packaging, the answer is $23.10: Mercari keeps $2.31 and your costs take $10.79.
