Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
What it does
This analyzer reads raw HTML you paste from View Source and checks five on-page basics: the title tag, the meta description, the number of H1 tags, how many img tags lack an alt attribute, and whether the page has any links. Each check adds points toward a score out of 100, shown beside counts for H1s, images and missing alt.
It is a fast sanity check for a single page, a template change or a competitor's page. It does not fetch URLs, run JavaScript, or look at speed, backlinks or content quality, so a high score means the basics are in place, not that the page will rank.
How to use it
- 1
Open the page in a browser and use View Source (Ctrl+U) to copy the full HTML.
- 2
Paste it into Paste page HTML.
- 3
Read the SEO score, H1 tags, Images and Missing alt stats.
- 4
Check the Title, Description and Links found lines below the stats.
- 5
Fix whatever cost points, then paste the updated source to score it again.
What you get
A score out of 100, counts for H1 tags, images and images missing alt, plus the detected title (first 50 characters), the start of the meta description (first 40 characters, or Missing) and the number of a tags found.
When to use it
- Checking a new theme
- Paste the source of one page built on a new template to confirm the title, meta description and single H1 survived the switch.
- Counting images without alt
- The Missing alt figure shows how many img tags have no alt attribute at all, a quick way to size an accessibility fix.
- Benchmarking a competing page
- Paste a ranking page's source to see its title and description as detected and compare the score with yours.
- Before-and-after checks
- Paste the source again after editing to confirm the fixes moved the score, since it recalculates as you paste.
Tips
- Paste the whole document including the head. A copied body fragment has no title or description and loses up to 50 points.
- For sites that render with JavaScript, copy the HTML from the DevTools Elements panel instead of View Source so client-added tags are included.
- Give decorative images alt="" and meaningful images real descriptions. The check only tests whether an alt attribute exists, not what it says.
Questions
How is the score out of 100 worked out?
A title of 30 to 60 characters earns 25 points (any other title earns 10). A description of 120 to 160 characters earns 25 (otherwise 10). Exactly one H1 earns 20, more than one earns 8. All images having an alt attribute, or no images, earns 15, and partial coverage earns 5. At least one link earns 15.
Why is my meta description shown as Missing?
The check looks for a meta tag with name="description" and a quoted content attribute in the pasted source. If your framework injects that tag with JavaScript, it is not in View Source, so copy the rendered HTML from DevTools instead.
Does an empty alt attribute count as missing?
No. Any alt attribute counts, including alt="". That is correct for decorative images but means an informative image with an empty alt still passes here.
Can I type a page URL instead of pasting HTML?
No. The analyzer only reads HTML you paste and makes no network requests, which also means it works on staging pages and local files.
